MonteAzul Group, a prominent construction company from the city of Ibagué, Tolima, was born from the dream of transforming land with great potential into visionary projects. Its history began in the municipality of Prado, Tolima, with an initial project oriented towards tourism and hospitality. The original idea was to create a glamping and lodging destination that would attract the attention of investors and tourists. However, the lack of interest in the initial territory led its founders to rethink their approach.
In 2022, a renowned construction company with over 26 years of experience became interested in MonteAzul Group's proposals. This alliance was decisive in consolidating MonteAzul's vision and structuring its business model. Initially, the company was going to be called "Santorini" in reference to the inclined terrain where its first project would emerge. However, in an agreement between both parties, it adopted the name "MonteAzul", which better reflected its identity and aspirations.
The company's first project was MonteAzul Club Náutico, launched for sale on January 28, 2023, during the Prado festivities. Despite lacking defined urban planning and renders at its beginnings, clients trusted MonteAzul's vision, managing to sell almost the entire first phase in less than three months. This success prompted the partnership to acquire an additional adjacent plot, where MonteAzul Golf Club was developed, an innovation project launched in June 2023.
The potential of Prado, Tolima, as a "diamond in the rough" attracted MonteAzul's investment in various projects. The region, located 98 kilometers from Ibagué and with access to neighboring municipalities such as Purificación, Dolores, and Montoso, proved to be a strategic point for real estate development. The abundance of flora, characterized by lush tropical forests, exotic orchids, ferns, and various species of palms, creates a unique natural environment that enriches each of our projects. MonteAzul also implemented initiatives such as a container space in Prado to facilitate clients' approach to its projects.
During 2022 and 2023, MonteAzul Group expanded its reach with the opening of offices in Centro Comercial La Quinta, Ibagué, and later in Bogotá. The headquarters in the Colombian capital generated great interest among clients, boosting lot sales.
MonteAzul Group continued to expand and diversify its portfolio with innovative projects that stand out for their originality. In November 2023, the company launched Pirate Paradise and Reservas de Prado, two investment proposals that marked a milestone in the region. In 2024, it presented the development of Las Victorias, reaffirming its leadership and consolidating its strategic vision in the sector.
During 2024, the company took a transcendental step by moving its main headquarters to La Florida, Ibagué, which represented a significant advancement in its operational strategy. Additionally, it reinforced its presence in Bogotá with the opening of two new offices in April 2023. These movements not only optimized its operational capacity but also demonstrated its commitment to offering a close, agile, and high-quality service to its clients.
